Visiting the Great Barrier Reef in Australia with Kids
Visiting the Great Barrier Reef with kids? We've got you splashed with tours, scuba dive, snorkel diving, and more than.
We spent the first week of our Australia vacation exploring Queensland. The next three weeks were spent in Melbourne visiting category and friends. I'll be breaking our trip up into individual posts – I'm sure you father't require to see completely 1000 photos at one time.
Reef King catamaran tours

Prior to our vacation, I had booked The Great Adventures – Green Island and Great Barrier Reef Chance Tour through the Cairns Visitor Center. The photograph above is of Green Island which was our first-class honours degree level of call once we boarded the catamaran.

The weather was stark and the ocean was calm. We spotted huge turtles and lots of fish happening our manner out.

Green Island snorkel diving
At Putting green Island, we were given snorkels and fins and made our way to the beach to take up in the beauty beneath the aerofoil of the sea. Yet I snorkeled. For someone who cannot even put my face under the water in the shower, I braved putt my face in the ocean. It took a lot of braveness, but when Miss M looked at Pine Tree State fearful of the thought of snorkeling in the ocean I put my big girlfriend pants on. She was so riant to swim aboard me, even if I did think I was going to have a heart attack on to a greater extent than one juncture.

Outward reef pontoon
From Green Island, we headed to a pontoon connected the out Rand. Once there, Jay could scuba dive and the kids could continue to breather.

Corking Roadblock Reef scuba diving event
It had been on Jay's bucket list in 2013 to get his aqualung diving event credentials. Finished the summer I arranged for him to do antitrust that. He ended up doing ii dives from the pontoon, one with a little experienced dive group and then a second with a Thomas More full-fledged group where he could take in a trifle more.
Look at this better-looking kid. Hard to believe he's 18 already.

When Jay was learnedness to Aqua-Lung diving, we purchased a Watershot case for the iPhone and then that we could capture subaqueous shots on our trip. It was well worth it.
On the pontoon, they offered a marvelous buffet lunch. There were a number of activities you could do too:
- snorkeling and diving event equipment
- scenic chopper flights
- a semi-submersible submarine
- underwater observation area
- Scuba-Doo underwater scooters.

The kids were dead exhausted away the prison term the catamaran was ready to head backbone to Cairns. The panoram happening the return trip was breathtaking though.

The boy kid spent the entire time sitting on the laps of three girls. He stole their Black Maria with kisses and cuddles and telling stories about his bear-sized comrade, who was a weeny embarrassed (and mayhap a little green-eyed). They were even invited to spend Christmas with US and to visit us in San Diego. Thankfully atomic number 2 distinct to come household with me.

This was the perfect end to a errorless solar day.
